The Maharashtra government plans to organize a dry run drive for Kovid-19 vaccination in four districts, Pune, Nagpur, Jalna and Nandurbar on 2 January.
State Health Minister Rajesh Tope said that this campaign will be run at three health centers in each district. According to the minister, 25 people have been selected for the mock drill for the vaccination campaign at each center.
Tope said the health centers would be equipped with facilities such as electricity connection, internet connectivity and security system besides a waiting room, vaccination room and examination hall.
After a vaccination drought run in Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Punjab and Gujarat on 28 and 29 December, the Center plans to extend the drill to the rest of the country as part of preparations for actual vaccination.
In Vaccine Dry Run, the entire process of storing vaccines from site to site, delivering them to participants and feeding data to the Co-Win app is practiced. The campaign was announced in the state after a meeting between the state and the Center on Thursday.
